Many indicators of China’s new energy vehicles have reached record highs
In the first ten months of this year, China’s new energy vehicle production and sales, export volume, and other indicators reached historic highs.
According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, from January to October this year, China’s production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 5.485 million and 5.28 million units respectively, with year-on-year growth of 111.4% and 105.4%, respectively, setting new historical highs in production and sales. At the same time, the market penetration rate of new energy vehicles was 13.4% last year, and it climbed to 24% in the first ten months of this year. In addition, exports have continued to show a high growth trend. In the first ten months of this year, the export of new energy vehicles reached 499000 units, a year-on-year increase of 96.7%. Chinese produced new energy vehicles are recognized by the global market, thanks to China’s complete new energy vehicle industry chain. Currently, more than half of the top ten global power battery sales companies come from China.
Since the beginning of this year, several international car companies have increased their investment in China. Ford announced the establishment of a company in China that focuses on the research and operation of intelligent electric vehicles. Volkswagen of Germany has invested approximately 2.4 billion euros to establish a joint venture focusing on technology development in the field of autonomous driving. Toyota in Japan has invested in fuel cell research and production projects in Beijing. Not long ago, BMW Group of Germany announced an investment of 10 billion yuan for large-scale expansion of power battery production in Shenyang, Liaoning. (CCTV Network)
